⚔️ A Date with Once and Nevermore! 🏰

My Arthurian romance The One That I Ask officially arrives October 13 in the Once & Nevermore anthology! Plus join me TODAY for the Fall Into a Book Facebook party — details and links below!

Hello, hello, Reader,

After seemingly endless months of twiddling my thumbs, waiting for Things to Happen, boy, are things happening!

First: I have a new release coming October 13. Rejoice!
Second: The Condo Project That Wouldn’t End? Done. Double Rejoice!
Third: I’m partying with a few hundred of my favorite readers and author pals on Facebook—TODAY—and you’re invited!

Gotta say, I’ve been soooo eager [read: impatient] for the Camelot-themed Once & Nevermore anthology to make its way into the world so I can share my fun and sexy short story, The One That I Ask.

Publication was delayed after the original coordinator suffered a house fire. First my flooded condo, then a fire. What is it with writers and property? I’m beginning to understand why we creative types were once rumored to live in drafty stone garrets.

Then again… indoor plumbing.

Maybe I’ll hold off searching Zillow Gone Wild for new digs a while longer.

Houston, We Have a Book Date, Not a Problem

Calling all Stays Up Too Late Society members: Connor + Keira Are Going to Cornwall!

First introduced in The One That I Want, Connor and Keira make a return appearance in The One That I Ask arriving on e-readers October 13.

The One That I Ask

The perfect plan to ask a Very Important Question requires some real-time adjustment when a couple on a romantic getaway in Cornwall unexpectedly encounter an ancient Arthurian legend, a well-timed flash mob... and enough Cornish pasties to survive the siege of half a dozen mythic castles.

In this land of quests and derring-do, Connor and Keira are about to discover that the greatest love stories aren’t built on magic—they’re built on choice.

The One That I Ask is a contemporary spin on the question powering the heart of the medieval tale, The Wedding of Sir Gawain and Dame Ragnelle: What does a woman want?

📚 The Chronicles of Keely: The Bedlam, the Boxes, and the Built-in Ever After

Almost despite itself, my big beautiful built-in crossed into “Done” territory last month—just hours before my mom and her partner arrived to help me unpack, organize, and make approximately eleventy-billion trips to IKEA, Home Depot, and the Container Store.

In between tackling all the post-project projects—like bunnies, they just seem to multiply, amirite?—we squeezed in movies, DC’s Restaurant Week, and a couple of visits to our favorite Tex-Mex joint.

After eight months, I cannot tell you how good it feels to have my home back.

Next on my to-do list? Buy a couch. Because I may be in “go” mode once more, but you really can’t go wrong investing in a comfy spot for late-night binge reading or afternoon naps.

Huge thanks to Mom and Jeri for helping me turn my condo back into my home. ❤️

Your September Book Jam: The Girl in the Wedding Dress

This month’s free book is Sandra Owens' The Girl in the Wedding Dress, a romantic suspense set in Asheville, North Carolina, a destination on my bucket list. I love reading stories set in places I’ve never been, don’t you?

The Girl in the Wedding Dress

by Sandra Owens

When a stalker sets his sights on Callie, a friend sends Brody Merrick to protect her. For years, she’s convinced herself that love isn’t for her, but maybe she’s been wrong all this time.

September Hot & Steamy Romance Reads

All the sizzle, all the spice

This collection of smokin’ hot free reads has some of my personal fave tropes: grumpy/sunshine, fake relationship, only one night, silver fox, and more billionaires than probably exist IRL.

What's on Tap for October

We've entered the busy season at work, so the next few months are "nose to the grindstone," but I have a few breaks planned, including a writing retreat over the long holiday weekend next month. The One That I Crave—Felix and Romy's story—is coming along and for the first time ever, I predict I'll be writing a scene set at Halloween on Halloween! 🎃 Too fun!

Ciao for now,

Keely

P.S. My local writing group has been running an Introverts Book Club since midsummer entirely through our email group—basically a book club for those of us who love talking about books but need another Zoom meeting about as much as we need a hole in the head. 😂

So far we've read Shanna, Rules for the Summer, and A Killer Kind of Romance. I'm loving the nudge to try new-to-me authors. Have you discovered someone new lately? Hit reply and tell me who I should add to my TBR!

Once & Nevermore: A Camelot Anthology is officially out in the world! And just maybe, I stayed up too late last night falling in love all over again with Connor and Keira, the stars of my contribution, The One That I Ask. I'm keeping this release-day newsletter super short so you can get a quick taste of what I'm talking about—and so I can get back to scarfing...

My heroine is on a date with a perfectly nice man who talks about cat probiotics. Naturally, she can’t stop thinking about the hot stranger she met in a restroom. Hiya, Reader! Welcome to August, a month when apparently my fictional characters are making questionable romantic choices while I juggle contractors, unpack boxes, and mull over the merits of giving my condo an exorcism. In other words, there’s a lot going on around here. Let’s start with Romy… Romy, Girlfriend, We Need to Talk Meet...

Hiya Reader, Sometimes life hands you a story gift. Out of the blue. Right there in public. What’s a gal to do but turn around and tell you all about it? I mean, once I stopped laughing... My Car Has Better Game Than I Do 🚙 Here’s the deal. A few weeks ago, I was waiting to turn into the gas station when I noticed a guy staring in my direction. Now, I drive a Very Cute Car, so I’m accustomed to people admiring it. But something about that look told me this gentleman had Something to Say. Sure...
